DragonFly Ladies is a beat board inspired by an episode from the childhood of pioneering cartoonist Barbara Brandon-Croft, developed under the supervision of Dr. Darnel Degand at UC Davis.

The sequence follows young Barbara as she encounters school bullies while her friends initially promise to stand with her—only for her to be left to face them alone.

Through staging, character acting, composition, and sequential pacing, I developed the board to communicate the emotional progression of the scene and Barbara's relationships with the other characters.
